Chicago to host parade for Blackhawks Friday

The Chicago Blackhawks will celebrate their Stanley Cup title with a ticker-tape parade in the Windy City on Friday.

The parade will mark the first title for Chicago's four major sports teams since the White Sox won the World Series in 2005.

The Blackhawks ended a 49-year title drought with a 4-3 overtime win in Philadelphia Wednesday night to capture the Cup Finals in six games over the Flyers. Patrick Kane scored the game-winner in OT.

The Blackhawks captured their fourth Stanley Cup since joining the NHL in 1926-27 and their first championship since 1961. They had lost each of their past five series in the Finals.
